The Aorus 15G features has a full-size keyboard with OMRON mechanical switch offering a 1.6mm actuation point, tactile feel and quieter. Each its chiclet-size key has individually lit RGB and it is completed with a numeric pad on the right side. Distance between keys are decent and typing feels great.

The touchpad is placed at the left of center, a bit small in scale compared to the keyboard. The fingerprint sensor is on top-left corner of the pad. You can use it to unlock the laptop. The pad feels smooth and works well. No complaint about using it.

The 2 x 2 Watt Stereo Speakers are located at the bottom. The sound quality is good enough but not perfect as expected. In our opinion, it is less of bass.

The manufacturer locates the 720p web camera on the bottom housing, so the top bezel can as thin as both sides bezel. The camera has a cover that you can slide over to block it. Sadly, you can’t change the angle of camera.

The power source inside is a 94Wh Lithium Polymer battery. Gigabyte claims that it can last up to 8 hours, depends on the setting and usage of laptop. It's good news since a full charge battery is enough for a day of work.

Tasks such as works with MS Office, browse multi-tab on the internet, watching online streaming, will easily handle. While for graphics work, you can only do basic photo and video editing. With the only integrated graphics card, then you can play a few indie games only. Don't expect much for playing AAA games since it is definitely not enough power for that. Yes, this is an everyday laptop, not a gaming one.

Display

This HP laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with WLED-backlit. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9. This anti-glare screen has also 45% NTSC, 220 nits, SVA tech.
This panel isn’t quite bright and might experience some difficulties to view the screen when under direct sunlight. And it is not suited for editors, designers, and creative professionals since the low color accuracy. However, it still good for watching Netflix and Youtube.
This screen has thin bezels on both sides, make it has an 82% screen to body ratio. That's why it seems so wide.

Ports, Networking and Others

Jump to the I/O options. The port selection is standard and adequate for work. It has USB Type-C, not a Thunderbolt 3. Sadly, it doesn't support for laptop charging or external monitor, but only data transfer, with a signaling rate of 5 Gb/s. So does USB Type-A that is for data transfer only. This is the I/O options list:

The keyboard comes with chiclet-size buttons and a numeric pad. It has decent key travel and satisfying tactile feedback. But unhappily, it has not LED backlight.
The trackpad is enough wide, smooth, and support multi-touch gestures.
The stereo speakers are located at top of keyboard, so the sound is clear and loud but we feel it is a bit less on bass.
And the web camera on the top of the display is an HP TrueVision HD Camera. It is integrated with a dual array digital microphone.

Battery and Portability

To support strong performance, HP packs a 3-cell, 41 Wh Lithium-ion battery pack into HP 15. This source power offers a long-lasting up to 10 hours for mixed usage. And for video playback or wireless streaming, it can last up to 8 hours and a half. Of course, it depends on the setting of laptop as well. The brighter the screen, then the battery will drain faster. Power charging is fast enough, up to 50% charge in 45 minutes HP Fast Charge.
