The port selection is great. The choices are plenty and various. Looking to the right side, we will find a MicroSD 5.1 UHD-II HD312 Card Reader slot, and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports while on the other side sit an Audio Out 0.125" Port (Compatible with inline mic headset), a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port with Powershare Technology, and an RJ-45 Killer Networks E3000 Gigabit Ethernet NIC port. This 17-inch gaming laptop features a full-size keyboard with island-style keys and 1.7 mm travel between the keys. It has also numeric-pad, RGB backlight, N-Key Rollover, and Anti-Ghosting technology.
The touchpad is exactly below the spacebar and wide enough for navigation or multitouch gestures smoothly.
As for the power source, the Dell packs a 6-Cell 86WHr Lithium-ion battery. No further information related to battery life. Since it is a high-performance gaming laptop, then we cannot expect too much on this battery, moreover when gaming. So, it is better to be a working or gaming station and put it not far from the AC socket.
We think that is better since it a big laptop as well. Alienware M17 has a dimension of 15.74 x 11.59 x 0.89 inches and a weight of 5.51 lbs. And yes, it is a big laptop indeed, and better to use as a working or gaming station.
Alienware M17 R3 - AWM17-7296WHT-PUS is surely a high performance laptop. Having a powerful engine, clear display, and various ports ensure this laptop ready to handle all the apps and games, as well as the demanding ones. It also has some deficiencies that not directly affect the whole performance, such as battery life and portability, so this laptop is more suitable to be a working or gaming station.
This Alienware M17 R3 has a price of $1,984.23 when we wrote this. It is expensive but worth all it offers.
