The ROG Zephyrus S17 has a nice anti-glare display panel with a diagonal width of 17.3 inches. This is a Full HD screen panel that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels so it can display detailed images with accurate colors, thanks as well to the broad color range, ie 72% NTSC color gamut, 75.35% Adobe RGB color gamut, 100% sRGB color gamut. And with the IPS tech, the display quality will remain steady without much affected by viewing angles, even when viewed from an extreme one.
The refresh rate of 300Hz and response time of 3ms is great for gaming because it enables every motion and action on the screen to seem smooth and alive.

Sadly, there is no RJ-45 LAN port so network connection will rely exclusively on Wireless options, ie 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, or perhaps use a USB to LAN adapter when need a more stable connection. This laptop has no media card reader as well.
As said above, the ASUS GX701LWS-XS76 has an unusual keyboard placement. The keyboard and touchpad are placed lower onto the inner frame where we usually find palm rest in most laptops. This is in order to leave room for the cooling system above.
This makes using this notebook on the lap uncomfortable. However, when using it on a desk, it's actually practical, just like typing on a regular desktop keyboard.

The keyboard itself comes with a standard layout, well-sized keys, and ample spacing. It features the n-key rollover and per-key RGB backlighting. No physical NumPad found instead, there's a virtual one that integrated into the touchpad. Just click the button to switch the functions. The touchpad is on the right side of the keyboard where the NumPad is usually placed and it is nice to use, like using a real mouse on a desktop.
This 17-inch Zephyrus has front-facing speakers on both sides of the keyboard and touchpad. It produces great sound quality, clear and punchy.
No web camera comes with this laptop so you need an external USB camera.
ASUS packs a 4-cell 76Whrs Lithium-Ion battery into this high-end gaming laptop. No further description of the battery's run time. However, some tests show that it can take up to 4 hours 30 minutes to watch videos on Youtube. Of course, the battery will run out quickly if you play games. So all of this really depends on the setup and usage of the laptop.

For a gaming laptop, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17 is a slim and light device. It weighs 5.7 lbs while the dimensions are 15.7 x 10.7 x 0.7 inches. The size is indeed large because this is a widescreen laptop. However, this laptop is still a convenient device to carry around.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17 GX701LWS-XS76 is basically a powerful gaming laptop. It is one of the top gaming laptops. Well-prepared with high-performance hardware, this gaming laptop is not great for gaming only but is capable as well to handle demanding tasks, especially that require high graphics details. The only thing that we think is less comfortable is the position of the keyboard which is a bit difficult to use when the laptop is used on the lap. The rest, we love this laptop.
